You Are In Control With the CobraMig® 400P

What Are the Advantages of "Pulse" Welding?

As technology advances, so does your list of options for the latest in welding technology. MK Products has this available to you now in the CobraMig 400P. This power supply includes many options for switching to many different welding applications. It offers one touch finger control which allows you to enter adjustments or programming any parameters for any given job. The CobraMig 400P has proven itself to provide unequalled control and stability using its single and double pulse software.

One of several goals for pulse welding is to minimize heat input, making out of position welding easier because the operator has more control over the weld puddle when laying down a bead. It also produces better weld bead characteristics even when welding with harder aluminum alloys. Pulsed aluminum welding also minimizes the need to weave or manipulate the gun to achieve that desired dime–stacking appearance of an aluminum weld. This pulsed MIG process is quicker and easier to learn than the manual TIG process that has been used for many years in the welding industry.

Another benefit is saving time and money with the pulsed MIG aluminum process being used today. Production is increased while maintaining the high quality demand by welding professionals. There is little need for rewelding or scrapping expensive parts. Spatter is reduced, and over-penetration is also greatly reduced because the heat input is cooler due to the pulsed spray transfer process utilized in pulsed aluminum MIG welding. Another benefit is getting the most out of your wire and tip consumables. Less burn-back and better arc strikes are the norm with this pulsed aluminum MIG process.

The CobraMig 400P offers many options to tailor fit your application, and adjust to future applications as well. Combining this advanced power supply with a 150-006 Cobramatic cabinet and the Cobra gun of your choice gives you more technology than you may expect. First, you have a system that not only offers the latest in pulsed MIG welding, it is also a push–pull system that was developed by MK Products over 40 years ago. Wire feed is reliable, no time wasting burn-backs, bird nesting, or over-use of consumables.

With the CobraMig 400P and Cobramatic cabinet, any of the guns produced by MK Products today can be used, giving many options to choose from for our customers. Both air cooled and water cooled guns can be used. From the ultra sleek Cobra SX, to the stout and sturdy Cobra Python, we have you covered. There are many lengths and options to choose from, just give MK Products a call or visit www.mkproducts.com to see what option best suits your needs.

During a recent open house event at MK Products, over 100 welders tried their hand at welding with the CobraMig 400P and a Python gun. These welders included beginners, experts, and artistic professionals. Many had never MIG welded with aluminum before, and they were very impressed with the comfort and ease of use with this system. After several hours of use, the system was shut down for the night. At this point, it was noticed that the contact tip was the only one used for the entire evening. 100 welders, beginner to expert, hours of welding, not one burn-back, and only one contact tip. The results of the CobraMig 400P speak for themselves.
