In Control With the CobraMig 400P - control-freak

In the Spotlight

You Are In Control With the CobraMig 400P
What Are the Advantages of "Pulse" Welding?

CobraMig 400P As technology advances, so does your list of options for the latest in welding technology. MK Products has this available to you now in the CobraMig 400P. This power supply includes many options for switching to many different welding applications. It offers one touch finger control which allows you to enter adjustments or programming any parameters for any given job. The CobraMig 400P has proven itself to provide unequalled control and stability using its single and double pulse software.

One of several goals for pulse welding is to minimize heat input, making out of position welding easier because the operator has more control over the weld puddle when laying down a bead. It also produces better weld bead characteristics even when welding with harder aluminum alloys.

Answers to Your Challenges

Extend Your Reach and Save Barrel Tip Threads
Connectivity - Cups, Tips, Extenders and Adapters

Connectivity - Cups, Tips, Extenders and AdaptersQ1. How can I extend the reach of my welding gun? And...

Q2. How do I protect the threaded end of the barrel from damage?

A. Answer to both questions: MK Products delivers guns with a standard contact tip and standard gas cup. However, all MK Products push-pull guns can be fitted with a tip extender, and probably should be.

Not only can tip extenders extend the reach of your gun, but tip extenders also protect the threaded end of your barrel from damage. Some are stackable and some are not. Check your product catalog to determine which are stackable.

In the Connectivity Guide for Cups and Tips you will see that each gun has the potential to be re-configured to meet nearly any requirement you may have. (See Article to find a link to the guide.).

Hot Tips and Hot Topics

Hot Tips - CobraMig 400P PosaStart Feature

Hot Tips TIP #1: When using the PosaStart feature with the CobraMig 400P and 150-006 Cobramatic cabinet, leave the PosaStart toggle switch on the cabinet front panel in the "Off" position. It is not necessary to turn this switch to the "On" position since the CobraMig 400P software has been programmed to control the PosaStart feature when using this system.

TIP #2: If you would like to see a demonstration of the CobraMig 400P in person, just give the MK Products Sales department a call. Not only can we get a demonstration set up, in many cases, your existing Cobramatic equipment can be upgraded to accept the CobraMig 400P Power Supply.
